Distinguish visits from travelling through
The map shows FARON’s selection of 197 travel countries. A logged night or stop counts as a visit. A saved route without a place visit is shown as travelled through only. Both contribute to the areas-on-the-map total.
Sweden may be the starting point. Denmark may be the ferry and the break. Japan may be the nights and stops you want to find when planning a return.
When you create an account you can log places, import earlier trips and follow your map over time.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a world map?
The map shows FARON’s travel-country selection: 193 UN members plus Vatican City, Palestine, Kosovo and Taiwan, a total of 197 countries.
How is a country marked as visited?
An overnight stay or stop within the country marks it as visited and contributes to its travel statistics.
What about countries I only drove through?
A country crossed by a saved route is marked separately as travelled through and receives no invented nights or stops.
Can I filter the travel map by country?
Yes. Country statistics can open the main map with that country's relevant overnight stays, stops and routes.
