Distinguish counties from provinces
Counties are administrative areas. Sweden’s historical provinces have different boundaries. This map and your county progress follow Sweden’s 21 counties.
Three steps
How the map fills up
Save a real place
Log the overnight stay, coffee break or viewpoint at the position where you actually stopped.
Connect it to a county
FARON finds the county from the coordinates and can recognise counties crossed by a saved route.
Follow all 21
The counter and map update together, from the first county to a complete view of Sweden.

Distinguish a visit from travelling through
A night in Värmland and a stop in Dalarna are visits. Jämtland can appear as travelled through when the saved route crosses it without a logged place.
Both remain visible, but not equivalent. Because the county map uses the same nights, stops and routes as the rest of the archive, there is no separate checklist to maintain.
When you create an account you can log places, import earlier trips and follow your map over time.
Frequently asked questions
How many counties are on the map?
The map contains Sweden's 21 counties and shows how many have been visited or crossed by a saved route.
Does the county map fill automatically?
Yes. FARON derives the county from saved place coordinates and route geometry.
Does driving through a county count as a visit?
It is recorded separately as travelled through when saved route geometry crosses the county. It does not gain overnight stays or stops that never happened.
Can I open the places behind a county?
Yes. County statistics can lead back to its relevant overnight stays, stops and routes on the main map.
