Open all year does not tell you when reception is staffed. For an autumn weekend in Haverdal or Järnavik, Sweden, I would start with arrival arrangements and showers, then choose the outings.
Separate the camping season from reception hours
Haverdals Camping lists overnight camping until 22 November 2026, with cabins open all year. Reception hours are listed separately. The final camping date is not a promise that someone will be at reception when you arrive.
Järnaviks Camping describes a different arrangement: open all year, staffed from 1 April to 19 September, and several self-service pitches during autumn and winter, with toilets and showers available. Read the current information and booking confirmation for your dates; these details were checked on 13 October 2026.

Ask three questions before booking
I would want these answers before paying:
- How do we enter if reception is closed?
- Which toilets, showers and cooking facilities will be available on our dates?
- What is the total price including the electricity and facilities we need?
Keep the answers with the booking. A restaurant or shop symbol on a campsite map does not establish October opening hours.
Give Friday a smaller programme
Imagine a two-night weekend with arrival planned for 17:00. If the drive takes until 19:00, you need to get in and arrange dinner without depending on an open kitchen.
Choose one outing. Keep a backup. I would put the longer walk on Saturday and end Friday at the campsite instead of adding another stop on the drive.
Check the weather forecast and choose accommodation that suits your equipment and companions. If you do not know whether your tent and sleeping equipment suit the overnight temperature, compare a cabin as a practical alternative. Changing accommodation does not have to mean cancelling the trip.
Compare the cost of the whole weekend
Add up both nights, electricity, any shower charges, food and the extra driving to activities. Read the change conditions before the weather gives you a reason to want different dates. The guide to campsites and motorhome stopovers helps compare what the price includes.
Find a good October weekend again
A walk in Haverdal and two nights in one place might be enough for the weekend. FARON lets you save nights, stops and photographs on your map and reopen the trip when planning another autumn visit. Start by logging your first night.
