One journey, one deliberate link
Share one completed trip without publishing your archive
Sometimes family only needs the map from last summer's journey. FARON can show that completed trip through a link while every other journey, place and account detail stays closed.
A useful share should have a clear boundary
A public profile is broader than the moment often requires. Sending screenshots loses the map, sequence and selected travel details.
FARON separates the private archive from a read-only view of one completed trip, with Selected parts as the default scope.
Choose exactly what the link shows
Complete the trip
A trip can be shared by link only after it has been marked as completed.
Select the scope
Use Selected parts to choose stops, overnight stays, map, gallery, elevation profile and journal, or explicitly choose the whole trip.
Preview and send
Check the read-only view, enable the link and send it only to people you want to give access to.
Show the Öland route, keep the rest to yourself
Choose the nights in Kalmar and Köpingsvik, the Böda swimming stop and the map. Leave private ratings and unrelated entries out.
The recipient opens that selection without signing in. Short. Specific. Separate from every other trip in the account.
Selected parts are the default
Notes, reviews, ratings and weather are included only when you actively select them or choose the whole-trip mode. Only photos included in the share can appear as map markers. The whole trip is still read-only, and the link can be disabled later.
Frequently asked questions
Must the trip be completed before I share it?
Yes. Link sharing is available after the trip has been completed.
Are private notes shown automatically?
No. Selected parts is the default, and private details appear only if you actively include them or choose the whole trip.
Do shared photos appear on the map?
Yes. A photo can mark its stop or overnight stay when that image is included in the share. Photos outside the share are not used on the shared map.
Can I share the whole trip?
Yes. The whole-trip mode shows all trip content read-only after an explicit scope warning.
Does the recipient need a FARON account?
No. Anyone with the enabled link can open the selected read-only trip, so send it with the same care as any private link.
Does sharing make my whole account public?
No. The link belongs to one trip and does not expose the rest of the archive.
Can I turn the link off later?
Yes. You control whether the trip link remains active.
