On your terms
No background GPS trail. Only the places you choose to keep.
At the evening stop, you decide whether the place belongs in your archive. The map shows the overnight stays, stops and trips you added — not every kilometre driven between them.
Remembering a trip should not require being followed all day
Automatic tracking can feel less like documenting a journey and more like surrendering a complete record of every movement.
For a private travel archive, selected places are often enough: the night that worked, the stop worth returning to and the route you want to remember.
You decide when location becomes part of the archive
No automatic trail
FARON is not a GPS tracker collecting your movements while you drive.
Use your position when useful
Choose your current position while logging a stop or overnight stay. The choice belongs to that action.
Or choose the place manually
Search for a place or select it on the map when you do not want to use your current position.
A van trip without a full movement history
A van traveller wants to remember overnight places and a few good stops, but not give an app a continuous record of the driving day.
In FARON, the traveller adds only those chosen places. The hours between them remain untracked.
Private documentation begins with control
Knowing that the app does not collect more than intended makes consistent use easier. Privacy becomes part of the workflow, not just a paragraph in a policy.
Frequently asked questions
Does FARON track everything I do during a trip?
No. FARON does not follow your movements automatically in the background. You save only what you choose to log.
Can I still use my current position?
Yes. When adding an overnight stay or stop, you can choose to use your position at that moment.
Must I enter every location manually?
No. You can search, use your current position or select a point on the map.
Why does this distinction matter?
It lets you build a useful map without creating a continuous location history of the whole journey.
